Sunday, March 10th from 12-3 PM Danielle Moore and Mark J. Tierney from Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty will be hosting a fun Open House at a newly built 4 bedroom home in the town of Clintondale. Three local artists will also be featured at the event. They will be displaying some of their work and will be onsite to answer questions or sell the pieces. More info below……..

Scott Garrette is originally, from Kansas City, MO and relocated to NY December, 2008.

Souzi is a self-taught artist that is always experimenting with new styles and techniques. A mother and wife, living in Warwick, NY, Souzi likes to keep her artwork affordable and easily attainable to all.

Victoria Robustello is a 20-year-old artist in the Hudson Valley. She specializes in portraiture and abstract landscapes in various media. She is currently enrolled in the BFA Drawing & Painting Program at SUNY New Paltz.

Referenced from anonymous submissions, Victoria Robustello creates ambiguous paintings of bodily insecurities in their true innate beauty and uses scars as a mode of atypical storytelling. Robustello says “the artwork is preexisting. I am painting scars to bring awareness to the unrecognized beauty and potential we often have hidden in our deepest vulnerabilities.”
What the viewer sees gives insight to their own ideologies and experiences than it does to that of the wearers: Do stretchmarks imply tigerstripes eared from dedication at the gym? Weight loss? Motherhood? A meaningless mystery? Does a broken fingernail come from a traumatic childhood experience or a funny drunken story? Are they accepted or rejected by wearers? Are they covered by tattoos or with appearance-reducing lotion religiously?

Our scars tell the stories we are reluctant to share and embrace as part of our identity.
